Geometry

A single building geometry is used in this design guide with variations in ventilation opening location, size and geometry. The building considered has the following characteristics:

• Single zone building with 40m2 of floor area (8m width along the East-West direction, 5m depth along the North-South direction, and 4 meter height)
• Standard working schedule occupation.
• Vertical walls: composite 2x6 Steel Stud (ASHRAE 1145-RP Wall Assembly 16).
• Heavyweight 10cm concrete floor with 5cm external insulation (separating the concrete from the ground).
• Medium weight 15cm concrete roof with 5cm external insulation.
• Standard double glazing in all windows (6-10-6 mm).
